About The Position

The Special Projects HVAC Mechanic works with, learns about, and oversees numerous HVAC systems, parts, and mechanisms. The role performs HVAC installation work at commercial sites, using detailed prints provided by designers and draftsmen to complete work on time and according to plan. A successful candidate has three or more years of demonstrable commercial HVAC experience and represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in business matters.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience specific to the commercial HVAC industry.
• Ability to perform basic trade-related math calculations for proper equipment installation.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and submittal sheets.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift heavy objects.
• General understanding of OSHA regulations.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Basic understanding of HVAC installation, HVAC systems, and operating control systems.

Nice To Haves

• EPA and/or OSHA certifications are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform various HVAC installation jobs at commercial sites.
• Install copper refrigerant lines for large VRF units, including brazing and soldering.
• Install most types of duct systems, from equipment rough-in to GRDs.
• Look ahead and provide the foreman with a material list as needed.
• Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and concerns.
