Special Programs Program Manager
About The Position
Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Grants and Special Programs, The Special Programs Program Manager is responsible for providing overall guidance/coordination of grants and incentive funds on behalf of Kern Health Systems (KHS). The Special Programs Program Manager is responsible for providing leadership in the planning, coordination and implementation of grants preparation processes. managing the sub-granting processes. drafting and monitoring grants budgets and contracts. tracking results. and finalizing state related reports. The Special Programs Program Manager will oversee and administer the full grant lifecycle, including but not limited to the pre-award phase, award phase and post award phase. The Program Manager will be required to manage the full portfolio of KHS grants, working closely with grantees/providers in a consultative approach to maximize provider grantee’s ability to receive award. This position requires the ability to develop grant programs, maintain provider community relationships, and oversee the operational implementation of the grants and special programs. The Program Manager will have strong written and oral communication skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or business administration or related field from an accredited institution.
- Four years’ experience in healthcare organization
- Two years’ experience in grants management or related field.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Grants and Special Programs and the Provider Network Team to research sources to identify available funding opportunities that are in line with the mission of KHS.
- Works with internal and external stakeholders to manage the flow of information and due diligence documents to ensure grants are processed appropriately.
- Works as a consultant for all grant and special program partners to maximize funding request submissions. Proactively solves and overcomes obstacles to execute special contracts/grants and ensure success of providers.
- Develop grant selection committee and chair all selection committee activities and meetings.
- Notify the award recipients and coordinate all written, or media relations notifications/press releases with KHS Marketing.
- After awards/contracts have been disbursed, the Program Manager will be responsible for all administration, financial and programmatic analytics and reporting requirements of the grants and special provider contracts.
- Perform audits as necessary with all provider recipients to verify funding is being correctly appropriated and funds are being used as required.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and statistical data to report the status of grants/special programs and the performance of such projects. analyzes reports to identify trends, lessons learned, insights and progress against goals and outcomes.
- Prepare final reports on all award closeouts and report findings to Executive team and Board of Directors as requested.
- Develop and make presentations to the Executive Team on annual program results and accomplishments.
