About The Position

The Special Procedures – Urodynamics position is responsible for in-clinic patient care and processing, including providing medical services, education, and support to patients. This role operates under the direction of the clinical leadership and ensures all duties are performed in accordance with established company policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and standard clinical practices
  • Basic understanding of urology-related conditions, diseases, and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency, including EMR systems
  • Ability to work independently after training and demonstrate willingness to learn
  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and workflows
  • Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in OB-GYN or Urology preferred (other relevant medical experience considered)
  • LVN, Medical Technician, or Urology Technician experience strongly preferred
  • Prior medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical histories, and confirming the purpose of visits.
  • Perform urodynamic testing in accordance with departmental policies and procedures; accurately document all findings in the EMR system for physician interpretation.
  • Administer pelvic floor biofeedback and PTNS therapy; document treatment sessions and communicate relevant information to the physician.
  • Perform pessary fittings and insertions per established protocols.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality by safeguarding medical records and ensuring accurate documentation, including diagnostic and procedure coding.
  • Educate and counsel patients by relaying physician instructions and addressing questions appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and work areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and restock as needed.
  • Ensure proper operation of clinical equipment through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs.
  • Perform basic patient triage and respond appropriately to urgent or emergent situations following established protocols.
