About The Position

Baptist Health Imaging offers compassionate care with advanced imaging and treatment, encompassing services like Computed Tomography, Diagnostic X-Ray, Interventional Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT Imaging, and Ultrasound. The department utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and provides services throughout the community, collaborating with other departments such as surgery and oncology to ensure comprehensive patient care. The Special Procedures Technologist provides healthcare services by applying pulsed x-ray energy for diagnosis or treatment. This role involves performing radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing, and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner. The technologist is expected to exercise professional judgment, maintain medical ethics, and recognize various patient conditions to provide appropriate care and ensure successful completion of exams or procedures. Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited education program in radiologic technology
  • Current American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Registry
  • Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy License
  • Current BLS

Responsibilities

  • Provides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy to assist diagnosis or treatment.
  • Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner.
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.
  • Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.
