About The Position
Thompson Health is hiring a per diem Special Procedures Technologist to support Interventional Radiology at its community hospital. The role uses advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images and assists Radiologists with complex minimally invasive procedures. The technologist also coordinates patient services and helps ensure a seamless, patient-centered experience while maintaining radiation safety, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable regulations. The schedule is flexible during daytime hours based on availability and includes one week of call per month. The pay range is $41.80–$52.80, based on experience. Requirements
- Complete a two-year AMA-approved school of radiographic technology.
- Hold a current, valid New York State Radiologic Technologist license.
- Hold American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Radiography (R) registry credentials.
- Hold a BLS certificate.
Nice To Haves
- Two to three years of Radiology Technologist experience, including one year of Interventional Radiology experience, is preferred; exceptional new graduate Radiologic Technologists may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Use advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images with precision and autonomy.
- Assist Radiologists during interventional procedures, including angiograms, biopsies, drainages, and embolizations.
- Coordinate patient services to support seamless care and positive experiences for patients and referring providers.
- Maintain radiation safety and patient confidentiality, complying with NYSDOH and JCAHO regulations.
