About The Position

Get paid while having fun and gaining valuable community and government service experience. Maplewood’s Public Works Department is looking for Special Events staff for several community outings. Apply by June 24th! All Special Event Staff will be expected to work the current events scheduled below: Wednesday July 8: 4-830pm Wednesday August 19: 4-830pm Friday September 18: 2 or 4pm – 10pm Most special events will be approximately 4-5 hours of work including set up, event and cleanup/take down. The Friday Night Fireworks event in September will be between 6-8 hours. Other various nights and/or weekends may be available based on special event needs but the above three are required.

Requirements

• Ability to get transportation to various locations (if applicable).

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with youth a plus (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provides a safe environment for those in the activity/facility in which they are working.
• Reports any issues to immediate supervisor.
• Assist the Recreation Leader in running a program (if applicable).
• Open/Close buildings/facilities (if applicable).
• Provide direction/instruction to participants/renters (if applicable).
