This part-time position involves providing direct patient care at the Emergency Medical Technician Defibrillation (EMT-D) level according to special events protocols and state OEMS guidelines. The role also functions in a support capacity to paramedics or nurses during patient transport from venue sites, assisting with packaging, loading, and providing care. A key responsibility is driving vehicles safely according to policy and law, ensuring passenger safety. The EMT-D is also responsible for cleaning and restocking the vehicle after each event or transport, reporting safety hazards, and documenting patient condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality. Maintaining necessary certifications, skills, continuing education, and mandatory in-services is also required.
