About The Position

This part-time position provides direct patient care at the Emergency Medical Technician Defibrillation level according to special events protocols and applicable state OEMS guidelines. The role functions in a support capacity to the paramedic or nurse during patient transport from venue sites. Responsibilities include assisting with packaging, loading, and providing care to patients at the EMT-D level as directed. The EMT Driver will operate vehicles according to special events policy and state/local law, ensuring the safety of all passengers. The vehicle must be cleaned and restocked after each event or patient transport. Safety hazards are to be reported to the lead paramedic or Assistant Director, or the MCA charge person if using an MCA ambulance. Patient condition and treatment provided must be documented while maintaining confidentiality. Maintaining necessary certifications, skills, continuing education, and mandatory in-services is also required.

Requirements

  • Current applicable state EMT certification required.
  • BCLS required.
  • Current Drivers License required.
  • 1 to 2 years experience with a 911 service as an EMT required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all passengers at all times.
  • Ensures that the entire vehicle is cleaned and restocked after each event and/or patient transport.
  • Reports any safety hazards to the lead paramedic or Assistant Director.
  • If using a MCA ambulance, report any safety hazards to the MCA charge person as soon as possible.
  • Documents patient condition and all treatment provided while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Maintains necessary certifications, skills, required continuing education, and mandatory in services.
