Special Events Attendant
About The Position
SP+ is seeking Special Events Attendants to work at sports and entertainment events. The role suits people who enjoy interacting with customers and offers a flexible work schedule, with opportunities to learn and grow within the company. Attendants provide customer service, process parking payments, facilitate traffic flow, and help maintain safe and orderly event locations. The work requires arriving on time in a neat, complete uniform and may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Special shift requirements, including third shift and weekends, may vary by location.
Requirements
- Less than a high school education, or one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one situations with customers and other employees.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, including performing these operations using American money.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance and wear the complete uniform at all times.
- Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle cash and equipment; occasionally sit, climb or balance, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including cold, rainy, snowy, harsh, hot, and humid conditions.
Responsibilities
- Courteously assist customers and answer their questions.
- Provide quality customer service, receive parking payments, and facilitate traffic flow through the gate.
- Arrive for every scheduled workday on time and in a neat, clean uniform.
- Give directions and stay knowledgeable about the surrounding area and city locations.
- Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
- Report accidents, observed or suspected policy violations, safety hazards, and unusual occurrences to the Facility or Senior Manager.
- Report debris and water or oil spills to the Facility or Senior Manager.
- Learn each Special Event location and its requirements.
- Count bank money at the beginning of the shift to verify the starting total.
- Collect cash and/or coupons and maintain the security of cash.
- Make change and issue receipts or tickets for each transaction.
- Verify shift transactions against money on hand and complete the cashier shift report.
