About The Position

The Server works under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Supervisor and Food and Beverage Manager providing prompt, excellent wait service to all customers, providing 100% guest satisfaction. The Server performs all job tasks in compliance with the philosophy, policies, goals, and budget of Traverse City Baseball, Inc.

Requirements

  • Previous wait staff experience preferred.
  • Strong presentation of customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and remain flexible. Holidays and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk up for 3+ hours at a time.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions.
  • Project a positive image to internal (employees) and external (fans) customers.
  • Ability to effectively present and respond to information and questions from management.
  • Professionalism, judgment and maturity in handling confidential matters.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high visibility when customers are present to proactively address guest’s needs.
  • Gain knowledge of menu items and all ballpark concession products.
  • Prep and pre-stock all with necessary supplies, food and beverages to assure they are ready for guests' arrival.
  • Assist supervisor with advanced food order set-ups and other prep work that needs to be accomplished before guests arrive to the stadium.
  • Welcome guests in your designated area, introduce yourself and identify the customer contact person.
  • Explain the process of ordering and payment in your area.
  • Inform suite guests about their options for soft drink service and unlocking coolers when suite holder elect to pay on soft drink consumption.
  • Handle all food/drink orders with customers.
  • Manage all customer service issues or concerns with customers. Report any issues to either the Supervisor or F&B Manager.
  • Gather prompt feedback on orders and provide check in with customers every 15 minutes throughout the night.
  • Continually clean trash, plates, carts and cans/bottles at every visit.
  • Make customers aware of the 7th inning alcohol cut-off early in the game and offer them a “last-call” opportunity to order alcohol ahead of the cut-off.
  • Total customers’ bills, collect payment, and provide receipt options to guests on request.
  • Always thank customer and welcome them back to another game.
  • Return items, maintain order to suites, prep and stock areas and clean at end of night in preparation for next game or event.
  • Tidy up post-game, cleaning any dirty dishes, and removing all trash from the area for the Operations team to pick up and dispose of.
  • Complete any projects designated by Food and Beverage Manager or Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
