About The Position

The Cook works under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager. The Cook is responsible for grilling, cooking, and frying all menu items for concession and picnic areas. Always ensures highest guest satisfaction while embodying The Pit Spitters Way and representing the image of the Traverse City Pit Spitters.

Requirements

  • Strong presentation of customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and remain flexible. Holidays and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to stand up for 3+ hours at a time.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Cooking background is preferred.
  • Associates degree or relative coursework in business, management, hospitality, food and beverage or equivalent experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow daily menu to prepare food for all concession areas.
  • Able to follow health department guidelines and cook to correct temperatures.
  • Keep food areas cleaned and sanitized as you use them.
  • Assists in all opening and closing duties in concession areas.
  • During events, cooks, grills, and fries based on presale and party size.
  • Resolve customer satisfaction issues as necessary and log complaints/resolutions as necessary.
  • Communicate to supervisor on what food needs to be cooked and how much.
  • Must be knowledgeable of concessions safety procedures.
  • Responsible for helping to fill out the end of shift inventory request sheets.
  • Follows all health code standards.
  • Night or weekend hours are required due to game day and facility event activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
