About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors is a private in-home and online tutoring company that provides flexible and personalized tutoring programs to students in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from kindergarten through 12th grade. We are seeking an experienced Special Education teacher or tutor with a strong understanding of supporting neurodivergent learners and a passion for teaching students across various grade levels.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
Hold a valid Pennsylvania State teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof.
Current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate.
Two or more years of experience as a private or charter school classroom teacher.
Experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College.
Master's/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. University or College.

Responsibilities

Provide academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge of the state curriculum.
Develop and deliver skill-appropriate lesson plans.
Provide supplemental assignments to help promote greater understanding of the material.
Offer remedial and enrichment support.
Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress.
Provide a customized approach tailored to the individual needs of each student.
