About The Position

The Special Education Technician provides support to students, including diapering and changing clothes as needed, behavioral and developmental support, and medical and physical care. The technician fosters positive relationships with students and provides assistance during routine and emergency situations, including first aid and CPR. The position may include transporting students in District vehicles that are not school buses, as well as performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, and an associate’s degree or at least 60 semester hours of college coursework completed with a grade of C or higher.
• Ability to obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification or equivalent certification approved by the Tulare County Office of Education.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain within the first six months of employment, a First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
• Possession of and ability to maintain a valid California Driver’s License and valid auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

• One year or more of experience working with children in an organized setting is preferred.
