About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. The teacher provides specialized English Language Arts (ELA) or Math instruction to students with diverse learning needs in a resource setting. The role includes developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with teachers, families, and school staff to adapt curriculum and implement accommodations, and supporting student progress and individualized learning goals. The teacher maintains compliance with IDEA and Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) while fostering a supportive learning environment. The schedule is school-based, up to 37.5 hours per week.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an applicable Special Education endorsement: Learning Disabilities (SM), Emotional Impairment (SE), Cognitive Impairment (SA), or Autism Spectrum Disorders (SV).
• Valid ELA or Math endorsement relevant to the assignment.
