About The Position
We are currently seeking qualified Special Education Teachers for full-time positions in Philadelphia, PA. These opportunities are available across upper elementary and middle school settings and involve supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Effective classroom management and instructional skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, teachers, and support staff.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with students in elementary or middle school settings preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized special education instruction and support to students based on their academic and developmental needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Manage and support an assigned caseload of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, parents, and related service providers.
- Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and learning materials to meet individual student needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Provide appropriate classroom management and behavioral support.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other school-related meetings as needed.
- Ensure instruction and services are provided in compliance with applicable state and federal special education requirements.
