About The Position

Brooke Charter Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher (referred to as a Student Support Coordinator) for grades K-2 for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is crucial in supporting students academically and personally by building strong relationships, ensuring accommodations are met, and developing intervention plans. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, participate in IEP and 504 meetings, and engage in professional development. Responsibilities include teaching daily support classes in math, science, life skills, and literacy, as well as drafting, implementing, and maintaining IEPs and 504 plans. A working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is required. Salaries are competitive and based on experience, with an additional stipend for teaching a high-need subject area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or a special education teaching license.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state special education laws.
  • General knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Commitment to fostering diversity by cultivating anti-racist practices and removing bias.
  • Ability to build a joyful classroom culture with high behavioral and academic expectations.
  • Professional, warm, and collaborative demeanor with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to start immediately.
