About The Position
Albemarle County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher with an adapted curriculum focus at Hollymead Elementary School for the 2026–27 school year only. The teacher will support students’ learning and contribute to the division’s goals of helping students thrive, empowering communities, and ensuring equitable, transformative resources. The position is part of a school division focused on high-quality teaching and learning, building relationships with families and communities, and supporting every student’s success. The division emphasizes culturally responsive teaching and an anti-racism policy intended to address inequitable practices and achievement gaps while supporting each child’s unique gifts, talents, and interests. The school division provides instructional support and mentoring, professional development opportunities, and a close-knit, supportive professional community. Candidates must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.
