About The Position

Discovery Schools - Fox is hiring a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–27 school year. The role designs instructional opportunities that help students access state learning standards and achieve their IEP, Behavior Intervention Plan, and transition goals. The teacher manages the classroom environment and the adults assigned to support classroom needs, and may lead or assist a team supporting a student in crisis using Safe Crisis Management and other crisis management techniques. The teacher monitors students receiving related services weekly, maintains progress records for assigned students, communicates regularly with parents, and prepares draft documents for IEP meetings according to the supervisor’s timeline. The role also requires following direction and established policies and procedures, and responding with tact, resourcefulness, patience, dedication, and calmness in high-emotion situations.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor's degree.
Demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience, and dedication, and react calmly and effectively in high-emotion situations.

Nice To Haves

Teaching certification is preferred.

Responsibilities
