About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking a Preschool Speech Therapist (SLP) for Esther Ashkenas ELC on the Upper West Side. The position is based at 450 56th St., New York, NY 10019, and is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The annual pay range is $83,000 to $83,553. The therapist delivers speech-language pathology services in accordance with students’ IEPs, assesses students and reports on their progress, develops and updates IEPs, and participates in interdisciplinary collaboration. The role also includes supporting speech-language staff and clinical fellows and assisting with assistive technology needs. Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Speech Therapy.
New York State Speech Therapist license.
Experience working with students with autism.

Responsibilities

Ensure delivery of speech-language pathology services in accordance with students’ IEPs and participate in service scheduling.
Provide assistance and consultation to Teachers of Speech and Language Disabilities and/or Clinical Fellow Therapists at scheduled meetings and as needed.
Provide mandated speech-related services as specified in students’ IEPs.
Maintain session notes documenting activities during individual and group therapy sessions.
Assess students annually and prepare periodic progress reports and annual reports describing performance, areas of need, and recommendations.
Complete IEPs based on assessments to address individual communication needs and update IEPs as needed.
Assist with acquiring assistive technology for students who need it.
Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings and represent student needs in communication and feeding.
