About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking a Preschool Speech Therapist (SLP) for Francis of Paola ELC in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This is a full-time position in a 10-month program with a 30-day summer session. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The position provides speech-language pathology services to preschool students in accordance with their IEPs and works collaboratively with educators and interdisciplinary teams to support students’ communication and feeding needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Speech Therapy.
New York State license as a Speech Therapist.
Experience working with students with autism.

Responsibilities

Ensure delivery of speech-language pathology services as specified in students’ IEPs and participate in service scheduling.
Provide assistance and consultation to Teachers of Speech and Language Disabilities and/or Clinical Fellow Therapists at scheduled meetings and as needed.
Provide mandated speech-related services as specified in students’ IEPs.
Maintain session notes documenting activities during individual and group therapy sessions.
Assess students annually and prepare periodic progress reports and annual reports describing performance, areas of need, and recommendations.
Complete IEPs based on assessments to address individual communication needs, and update IEPs as needed.
Assist with acquiring assistive technology for students who need it.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and represent student needs related to communication and feeding.
