About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking a full-time Preschool Speech Therapist (SLP) for the Francis of Paola Early Learning Center in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The role is part of a 10-month program with a 30-day summer session. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. The Speech Therapist delivers speech-language pathology services in accordance with students’ IEPs, assesses students and documents progress, develops and updates IEPs, and collaborates with teachers, clinical fellows, and interdisciplinary teams to support students’ communication and feeding needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech Therapy.
New York State Speech Therapist license.
Experience with students with autism.

Responsibilities

Assure delivery of speech-language pathology services as specified in students’ IEPs and participate in service scheduling.
Provide assistance and consultation to Teachers of Speech and Language Disabilities and/or Clinical Fellow Therapists in regularly scheduled meetings and as needed.
Provide mandated speech-related services as specified in students’ IEPs.
Maintain session notes documenting activities during individual and group therapy sessions.
Assess students annually and prepare periodic progress reports and annual reports describing performance, areas of need, and recommendations.
Complete IEPs based on assessment to address individual communication needs, and update IEPs as needed.
Assist in acquiring assistive technology for students who need it.
Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings and represent student needs in communication and feeding.
