About The Position
Stambaugh Charter Academy in Youngstown, Ohio, is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students in grades K–8. The role provides instructional and behavioral assistance in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and/or 504 behavior plans, as directed by the special education team. Support may be provided one-to-one or in small groups. The paraprofessional helps educate the whole student academically, morally, and socially, and implements curriculum and instruction designed to meet the individual needs of students resulting from their disabilities. Services may include resource room, inclusion, and/or pullout support. The role also involves attending professional development, specialized training, and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents as required, and assisting with compliance documentation.
Requirements
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
- Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance in accordance with students’ IEPs and/or 504 behavior plans, as directed by the special education team.
