Special Education Paraprofessional at Eagle Crest Charter Academy
About The Position
Eagle Crest Charter Academy is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students in Holland, Michigan. The school serves Young 5 through eighth-grade students. The paraprofessional provides instructional and behavioral support in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and/or 504 behavior plans, as directed by the special education team. Support may be delivered one-on-one or in small groups. The role also assists with specially designed instruction, professional development and training, IEP meetings, and compliance documentation.
Requirements
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
- Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications.
Responsibilities
- Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance according to students’ IEPs and/or 504 behavior plans, as directed by the special education team.
- Provide student support one-on-one or in small groups.
- Commit to educating the whole student academically, morally, and socially.
- Implement curriculum and instruction designed to meet the unique needs arising from each student’s disability, including resource room, inclusion, and/or pullout services.
- Attend professional development, specialized trainings, and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents as required.
- Assist with required compliance documentation.
