Special Education Paraprofessional at Eagle Crest Charter Academy
About The Position
Eagle Crest Charter Academy is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students in Holland, Michigan. The role provides instructional and behavioral assistance in accordance with students’ individual education plans (IEPs) and/or 504 behavior plans, as directed by the special education team. Support may be delivered one-to-one or in small groups. The paraprofessional helps educate the whole student—academically, morally, and socially—and implements curriculum and instruction designed to meet students’ individual needs related to their disabilities. Services may include resource room, inclusion, and/or pullout support. The role also involves professional development, specialized training, IEP meetings with the special education team and parents, and compliance documentation.
Requirements
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
- Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications.
Responsibilities
- Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance in accordance with IEPs and/or 504 behavior plans, as directed by the special education team.
- Provide support one-to-one or in small groups.
- Support students’ academic, moral, and social development.
- Implement curriculum and instruction designed to meet each student’s needs related to their disability, including resource room, inclusion, and/or pullout services.
- Attend professional development, specialized trainings, and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents as required.
- Assist with required compliance documentation.
