About The Position

Building Connections Academy is hiring a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional to provide one-to-one behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences. The role helps students develop communication, social, play, life, and self-help skills while fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. The position is in person, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; minimum availability is Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pay is $22–$28 per hour, based on experience, certification, and education. An RBT certification is required, or the employee must be willing to become certified within 90 days; paid training is included. The school is based in Concord, California, and also has a location in Martinez.

Requirements

• Passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, or willingness to obtain it within 90 days.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• Required immunizations: MMR, Tdap, Varicella, and Hepatitis B.
• TB clearance within the past four years.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
