About The Position

Building Connections Academy is a special education nonpublic school with locations in Concord and Martinez, California. The School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional provides one-to-one behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences, helping them build communication, social, and life skills in a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. The role is in person, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.; currently available hours are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pay is $22–$28 per hour, based on experience, certification, and education. RBT certification is required, or candidates must be willing to obtain it within 90 days; paid training is included. The paraprofessional receives support and supervision from Board Certified Behavior Analysts and participates in ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements

• Passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• Required immunizations: MMR, Tdap, Varicella, and Hep B, plus TB clearance within the past four years.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
