About The Position
This is a Special Education Program Assistant position at John G. Conyers Learning Academy. The role is for 185 days per year, working 6.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The position offers an hourly wage of $16.88 plus a $6.00/hr SEHN Stipend for working in high needs special education programs. Excellent benefits are provided. More specific information regarding the SEHN stipend will be shared by building administration.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold at least ONE of the following licenses through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE): Paraprofessional License (PARA), Short Term Approval for Paraprofessionals (STA), Substitute License (SUB), or Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Must be able to work 185 days per year.
- Must be able to work 6.5 hours per day.
- Must be available to work Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of educational programs for students with special needs.
- Provide support to students under the direction of teachers and administrators.
- Work in high needs special education programs to qualify for the SEHN stipend.
