About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice is a multi-faceted agency that serves juveniles of the Commonwealth. Responsibilities

  • Total oversight of all construction projects for the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).
  • Serve as the chair for any special projects handed down by the Commissioner or Cabinet Secretary.
  • Manages and oversee the administration and management of all construction projects for DJJ.
  • Meets with Executive staff to plan and discuss construction projects to determine goals of the desired outcome of operational needs.
  • May supervise construction staff, approve timesheets and complete employee evaluations.
  • Creates the scope of work for construction projects based on operational needs and available funds.
  • Develops, organizes, and maintains project files and documentation to support new construction projects.
  • Works with Finance and Administration Cabinet to coordinate the completion of construction projects.
  • Attends construction meetings to resolve problems and monitors progress of project.
  • Administers special construction projects.
  • Provides technical assistance and budget control over projects.
  • Has responsibility for the approval and maintenance of project records during design and construction.
  • Reviews and interprets departmental rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Assists in the development of departmental policies.
  • Attends all required meetings and trainings.
  • Performs other duties as required.
