About The Position

Serve as a SLED Agent/Analyst for the Counter Terrorism Unit, while working out of the Seahawk Interagency Operation Center (lOC). Perform training, presentations, and analysis as needed. Assist with Homeland Security missions along with multi-jurisdictional operations on the port and on the water. Perform related duties in support of criminal investigations, provide assistance to the other intelligence agents, and perform general law enforcement duties as required. Assist in joint operations with Seahawk IOC Partners. Operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment using a variety of databases and search tools to support federal, state, and local law enforcement. Produce maritime analytical products for state, local, and private sector partners concerning criminal and/or terrorist threats along with coordinating information sharing with partners. Assist with multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional operations. Aid in the continued growth of the fusion liaison program (FLO), networking around the state and assist in managing the program. Conduct presentations to include various Seahawk IOC briefs and the FLO training events. Assist with monthly/yearly Seahawk IOC reporting and FLO reporting. Operate in a fast-paced, team oriented environment using a variety of databases and search tools to support federal, state and local law enforcement. Maintain professional knowledge of current trends and developments through daily research, training evens and inter-agency exercises and operations. Act as a liaison for SLED and the Seahawk IOC. Initiates special projects, working both independently and as part of a team. Gather information related to specific criminal or administrative investigations. Disseminate information in an effective and efficient manner. Perform various support tasks relating to maritime intelligence, the Seahawk IOC, and the Counter Terrorism unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must currently be certified or have the ability to become certified as a Class I Law Enforcement Officer through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy
  • Ability to work well with other agencies and private sector partners.
  • Significant knowledge of the maritime domain and partnerships involved in the SeaHawk Interagency Operations Center and SLED's fusion liaison program.
  • Must have significant analytical skills.
  • Must have the ability to perform analysis and evaluate raw data from all sources to determine criminal or terrorist activities.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership on complex group projects and operations.
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication.
  • Position involves critical duties and responsibilities that must continue to be performed during crisis situations and contingency operations.
  • Necessary responsiveness will require certain special considerations, such as extended overnight travel, rotational hours of work, and on-call status.
  • Must be able to perform all of the physical requirements of a certified Class I LEO including, but is not limited to, the apprehension and arrest of criminals, including physically resistant individuals; performing investigations, inspections, search and seizures, including searching vehicles, buildings, attics, and crawl spaces; working crowd control and security during special events, including protests, marches, concerts, political rallies, and other events; working emergency response during natural disasters and other emergent crises.
  • Must be able to respond 24/7 as needed and able to stand post or take other law enforcement action for long periods of continuous time (12+ hours).
