About The Position
The Annapolis Valley Centre for Education (AVRCE) is seeking a Spare Janitor to work on an as-needed basis. This role involves performing a variety of janitorial tasks in various schools within Annapolis/Kings/Hants County. The successful candidate will participate in AVRCE's janitorial training program, which includes WHMIS and Safe Work Practices. This position offers flexible hours, primarily in the evenings, and provides an opportunity for growth within the organization.
Requirements
- Applicants must be physically able to perform duties.
- Applicants must possess the knowledge and ability to apply current cleaning methods and practices with minimal supervision.
- The candidate must be able to apply sound judgment in recognizing safety hazards throughout the premises.
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check.
- Must provide a completed Child Abuse Registry.

Responsibilities
- Clean all assigned areas of the school in accordance with established practices and standards.
- Perform floor care duties, such as stripping, sealing, waxing, burnishing, etc.
- Other related duties as assigned.
