About The Position

Casual Educational Assistants (EAs) are needed on an "as needed" basis to work at various schools and grade levels. This role involves supporting children who require the assistance of an Educational Assistant. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour. Successfully complete a Child Abuse Registry Search.
Successfully complete a Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector.

Nice To Haves

Post-secondary training in human services or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with children who require the support of an Educational Assistant.
Work at various schools and at various grade levels.
Demonstrate understanding of the role and responsibility of an EA.
Demonstrate knowledge of the stages of child/youth development.
Demonstrate awareness of, respect, sensitivity, and awareness of similarities/differences for children with special needs.
Demonstrate knowledge of health, hygiene and safety including personal/physical care and the safe transfer of students.
Demonstrate understanding of behaviour management.
Demonstrate knowledge of basic computer applications and technology.
Demonstrate awareness of assistive technology.
Work collaboratively with members of a team.
Follow instructions of teachers and school administrators.
