About The Position

LTC is seeking contracted Spanish language interpreters in the Chicago area. Interpreters accept appointments on an as-needed basis and provide on-site, in-person interpretation. The role involves interpreting in a variety of settings, including medical, social work, education, and workplace settings. The interpreter serves as a liaison using the client’s preferred language and must interpret accurately for the setting and audience while complying with applicable privacy and confidentiality laws and regulations, including HIPAA.

This is an independent contractor role. The interpreter is a vendor providing language interpretation services on an IRS Form 1099 basis and is not an LTC employee.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of medical interpreting experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of interpreting experience.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.

Nice To Haves

• Interpreting certifications are preferred.
• Experience in a variety of medical settings, social work, education, and workplace settings.
