About The Position

Propio Language Services is hiring remote Spanish contract interpreters for its PropioONE OnDemand service. Interpreters provide consecutive, first-person interpretation and follow client protocols, company policies, confidentiality requirements, and interpreter ethics. They are expected to continually develop their vocabulary and specialized subject-matter knowledge for clients in areas such as medical, legal, and social services.

Requirements

• Submit an updated resume in English with the application.
• Complete English-language proficiency testing with a rating of technical proficiency (3 or higher on the nationally recognized ILR scale).
• Successfully complete a mock oral interpretation session and attain a passing score against 24 quality standards.
• Pass Propio’s online Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology Assessment.
• Pass a full background check and security screen.
• Sign a commitment to confidentiality, adherence to ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of interpreting experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive, first-person interpretation.
• Follow interpretation protocols and procedures required by Propio Language Services clients.
• Follow company policies and procedures concerning information confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
• Continuously improve vocabulary and specialized subject-matter knowledge for client needs, including medical, legal, and social services.
