ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) is seeking a Spacecraft Technician Harness Fabrication, Associate in Kennedy Space Center, FL. This role involves performing a range of duties in mechanical, electromechanical, and Facilities GSE when constructing and assembling spacecraft and associated ground support equipment. The technician will read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, engineering documents, work authorization documents, and other written or verbal instructions. Key responsibilities include constructing, assembling, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, components, and subcomponents according to instructions. The role also involves operating related equipment, conducting tests, reporting data, performing alignment checks, making modifications, preparing compounds, and using various measuring devices. Additionally, the technician will carry out corrosion control treatments, complete and maintain documentation, and make recommendations for process improvements. A significant part of the role includes fabricating flight and non-flight wire harness assemblies (power, RF, high-speed data, thermal, network, thermocouple, and fiber optic), interpreting engineering drawings, and performing tasks such as layout, terminations, crimping, soldering, connector mate/demate, potting, and staking. The technician will also conduct continuity and insulation resistance tests, troubleshoot issues with engineering support, operate processing and test equipment, collaborate with engineering on production issues, and train/mentor less experienced technicians. Basic computer software proficiency (Microsoft Office and manufacturing applications) and excellent communication skills are essential.
