About The Position

The Spa Receptionist is responsible for providing an uncompromising level of guest service as it pertains to greeting, checking in/out guests, explanation of services, scheduling spa services, and knowledge of retail inventory and retail sales. This role involves creating remarkable guest experiences at a world-class resort.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate cash register, adding machine/calculator, multi-line telephone, and credit card machine.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a maximum of 20 lbs. on an intermittent basis.
  • Sufficient dexterity of hand to use office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment, and multi-line telephone.
  • Ability to act independently, exercise good judgment and initiative.
  • Social skills to effectively deal with internal/external guests, requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information, follow instructions, and provide clear direction.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of management and employees in verbal/written form.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to complete reports, appointments, sales transactions, and communicate with guests and employees.
  • Ability to listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language to follow verbal and/or written instructions/inquiries/requests.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest level of personalized service while maintaining a positive, engaging, helpful, and professional attitude.
  • Communicate and describe spa offerings and their benefits in an articulate manner.
  • Compare and contrast different services on the menu and recommend treatments that fit guests' needs.
  • Handle reservations, guests' requests, and questions with professional telephone etiquette.
  • Process cash, credit card, gift certificate, comp, and room charge transactions accurately.
  • Inform facility management of any member, guest, or facility issues.
  • Be knowledgeable about the facility, property, and its amenities to effectively communicate with guests.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to management.
  • Maintain a healthy, fit appearance and a positive attitude as a representative of the Spa.
  • Answer questions and offer assistance regarding outlet hours, hotel services, directions, car rentals, and airline shuttle service.
  • Organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision and multiple interruptions.
  • Adapt instructions and directions from one assignment to another.
  • Answer the multi-line telephone and provide information as needed.
  • Receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance all moneys.
  • Make deposits/cash drops and secure the bank.
  • Remain calm and alert during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity, serving as a role model.
  • Resolve complications and complaints by conducting thorough research and identifying effective solutions.
  • Make decisions and take action based on previous experience and judgment, sometimes revising procedures for unusual situations.
  • Maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
