Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with 2 years of maintenance experience
  • DEC in mechanical or electrical engineering with at least 5 years of maintenance experience
  • Strong knowledge in the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Strong knowledge of CSA Standards
  • Ability to support electrotechnicians
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Analytical mindset with a results-oriented approach
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a complex, evolving environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and stay organized
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (required)
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools (Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma)
  • Excellent proficiency in English to read and understand technical documentation daily from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate with clients, suppliers, and colleagues globally.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the RBQ liaison for the maintenance team
  • Develop or improve maintenance plans (preventive maintenance)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of reliability processes, parts management, suppliers, etc.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns
  • Research and implement solutions based on maintenance best practices (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing)
  • Lead the quality clinic and coordinate solution implementation
  • Manage contractors for the execution of maintenance work (risk analysis, enforcement of company health and safety rules [cardinal rules], work permits issuance, schedule follow-ups, execution oversight, etc.)
  • Participate in the development of technical specifications for new equipment acquisition
  • Monitor equipment-related projects (machine safety, TPM, retrofits, decommissioning, etc.)
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Serve as a point of reference for unionized workers.
  • Assist the maintenance supervisor with management and planning activities
  • Conduct compliance audits
  • Prepare departmental performance indicators and develop action plans to address gaps
