About The Position

SMARDT is expanding its operations in North America and is looking for a Quality Management System (QMS) Specialist to be a key member of the Quality Team, ensuring the effective implementation of the SMARDT QMS. As the custodian of QMS documentation, including all policies, processes, procedures, work instructions, and forms, the QMS Specialist ensures the overall structure is up-to-date, reflects current practices, complies with the latest revisions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, and is readily accessible by stakeholders in each department.

Requirements

  • Quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5 years' working experience in a similar, and relevant manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems, Procedures, Root Cause Analysis methods such as, Ishikawa diagram, 5 Why's, etc.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 standards.
  • Experience in auditing processes and systems to standards.
  • Knowledge of corrective and preventive action process.
  • Knowledge of registrar’s certification process.
  • Good ability to write concise procedures and work instructions.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite and SharePoint to facilitate regular reporting.
  • Strong analytical mind and excellent problem-solving skills and be innovative.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a highly dynamic environment.
  • Good knowledge of Visio and flowcharting tools.
  • Good knowledge of configuration control and change management.
  • Able to establish and maintain QMS KPI.
  • Able to design and provide training on key QMS topics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, industrial engineering, Quality, or related experience within ISO certified companies.
  • Lead Auditor training and certification.
  • Ability to communicate in French with the Quebec team.
  • Strong English skills are required to collaborate effectively with suppliers and the global team.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ASME is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain quality assurance procedures and work instructions while liaising with other departments to maintain their respective documentation and records.
  • Support the evaluation and audit of the Quality Management System and its certification to applicable standards.
  • Participate in the implementation of corrective actions for any non-compliance resulting from QMS audits, including root cause analysis to determine underlying reasons, mitigate non-conformity, and ensure future continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present quality data reports and company dashboards/KPIs as appropriate on the performance and effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Interface with all other functions within the organization on QMS-related issues.
  • Support QMS training initiatives.
