About The Position

The Business Analyst I plays a critical role in performing new product implementations for Ryder's new and existing customer sites. This will require superior attention to detail and communication skills to effectively gather business and user requirements and transform those into reliable and accurate data collection, reporting, and insights for Ryder's analytics platform. This position will have a direct impact on Ryder's business by enabling our operations team to run our customer locations as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in a technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • 0 to One (1) year experience as a business analyst or related experience. Internships or Co-Op are applicable required.
  • Knowledge SQL databases and PowerBi intermediate required.
  • Project management skills.
  • Possesses strong technical aptitude.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skillset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the standard implementation process for the analytics platform for new and existing Ryder customers.
  • Gather and evaluate business and user requirements at new and existing customer accounts to understand metrics, KPI’s, operational data, and user interface requirements.
  • Integrate customer data sources into the analytics platform using proficient knowledge of database structure, queries, and data validation to ensure accurate data reporting.
  • Develop PowerBi dashboards by understanding business needs, interpreting data, and transforming into usable visualizations to drive business decisions
  • Work closely and effectively communicate with a wide array of stakeholders, including operations, continuous improvement, IT, product teams, and management
  • Identify opportunities to standardize the implementation process to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Support initiatives to develop new or enhanced features incorporating data reporting, analytics, and insights to further improve the user experience
  • Proactively address customer issues, modifications, and enhancements for existing accounts.
  • Gather, validate, maintain customs-related product characteristics required for import/export compliance and tariff mitigation initiatives.
  • Distribute information to brokers and load values in systems such as SAP and Webcon
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain required information within established timelines and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor progress of open requests, perform follow-ups and provide regular status updates, metrics, and escalation reporting.
  • Develop, improve, document, and standardize processes, controls, tools, and systems related to customs product data management.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks associated with product characteristics and support corrective actions.
  • Assess the compliance and cost impacts associated with missing or inaccurate product information.
  • Support customs compliance initiatives related to U.S. tariffs, USMCA qualification, country of origin determination, and metal reporting requirements.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Engineering, Supply Management, Finance, MRO, Customs brokers, and other stakeholders involved in customs data management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing process efficiency, data reliability, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support audits, internal reviews, management reporting, and requests from customs authorities or external service providers, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customs regulations, and corporate governance requirements related to trade compliance activities.
  • Addresses day-to-day implementation and customer site support issues and fixes.
  • Provide support to additional product development and business projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
