About The Position

The Learning Experience in Rock Hill is seeking a dedicated and compassionate South Carolina First Steps 4K Instructional Assistant. The role supports the lead teacher in creating an engaging, nurturing, safe, and stimulating learning environment for 4-year-old children. The assistant contributes to children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development and works collaboratively with the lead teacher, children, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Familiarity with South Carolina First Steps 4K guidelines and early childhood education best practices.
• Passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and build positive relationships with children and parents.
• Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for 4-year-old children based on South Carolina First Steps 4K guidelines.
• Support the lead teacher in creating a safe and stimulating learning environment that fosters children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and facilitate engaging lessons and activities that promote active participation and learning.
• Provide individualized attention and support to children, addressing their specific needs and challenges.
• Assist with classroom management and help ensure a positive, inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Observe and document children's progress and behavior, maintain accurate records, and share observations with the lead teacher and parents.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
• Support the lead teacher in maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
