About The Position

The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa is seeking a passionate, hands-on Sous Chef to help lead our culinary team and deliver exceptional dining experiences across one of Mobile's premier full-service Marriott hotels. This is an outstanding opportunity for a culinary leader who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys developing people, and takes pride in consistently delivering exceptional food quality. Working alongside our Executive Chef, you'll help oversee restaurant operations, banquet production, room service, and other culinary outlets while inspiring a team committed to excellence.

Requirements

• Proven culinary leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, resort, catering, or banquet operation, with previous supervisory or management experience required.
• Experience leading kitchen teams while maintaining exceptional food quality, operational efficiency, and strong financial performance.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, purchasing, inventory control, labor management, and cost controls.
• A collaborative, hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for developing people and creating memorable dining experiences.

Nice To Haves

• Breakfast service experience is strongly preferred
• Experience supporting both restaurant and banquet operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations across restaurant, banquet, and room service functions, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, presentation, and execution.
• Coach, mentor, and develop culinary associates by fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with the Executive Chef to drive operational excellence through labor management, food cost controls, inventory management, purchasing, and quality assurance.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and Marriott brand standards while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage leadership to enhance the guest experience, support menu innovation, and deliver exceptional service for both restaurant guests and banquet events.
