About The Position

Papa Razzi Wellesley is seeking a Sous Chef to join its culinary team. The restaurant serves Italian scratch cooking made with fresh ingredients in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and is part of Newport Restaurant Group. The Sous Chef works with the Executive Chef to oversee and lead daily kitchen operations. This role suits a motivated cook with a passion for ingredients and technique, along with management and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

At least 2 years of previous experience as a Sous Chef in a full-service establishment.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and move 25–50 pounds.
Must have a flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed.
Use a collaborative team approach to help create an equitable workplace and maintain respectful working relationships.

Responsibilities

Manage daily kitchen operations and coordinate kitchen activities, including private dining.
Monitor daily prep production and check the quality of mise en place before service.
Oversee employees preparing and cooking food to ensure a quality guest experience.
Develop back-of-house employees and kitchen supervisory staff.
Assist with inventory, purchasing, and storage.
Produce daily specials.
