About The Position

Fastenal is hiring an entry-level, part-time Sortation employee at its distribution center in Lacey, Washington. The role supports the movement of products from the distribution center to company-owned branches by organizing outgoing orders into totes and pallets for shipping. The position involves working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old due to the nature of the work.
Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service oriented.
Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and extra time as needed.
Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and possibly up to 100 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only).

Responsibilities

Use computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label products.
Organize shipments into the correct containers.
Pack products in layers to support stability and efficient use of space.
Identify fragile products and process them appropriately.
