About The Position

Fastenal is hiring an entry-level, full-time Sortation employee at its distribution center at 5851 Guion Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46254. The role helps facilitate product movement through the distribution center to company-owned branches. The employee organizes outgoing orders by placing packages into totes and pallets for shipping. The position may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding and training and after performance goals are met.

Responsibilities

• Operate computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product.
• Organize shipments into the correct containers.
• Pack product in layers to ensure stability and efficient space usage.
• Identify fragile product and process it accordingly.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Comply with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations.
• Participate in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety, and sustainability objectives.
• Learn, pass, and practice environmental health and safety trainings.
