Sonographer - Chula Vista
About The Position
The Sonographer position is based at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista and may also include shifts at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego in Hillcrest. Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. This is a full-time role working 80 hours per pay period, with varied 8-hour day and evening shifts. Scheduling flexibility is required throughout the week, including weekends and holidays, and the role participates in an overnight on-call rotation. A new-hire incentive of up to $8,000 and relocation assistance are available to qualifying candidates. Internal candidates, rehires who left Scripps less than three years ago, and new graduates are not eligible for hiring incentives; candidates must have at least one year of Sonographer experience to qualify. Retention incentive eligibility requires remaining in the original hired FTE status and shift (if specified in the offer letter), department or specialty, and job title. Transfers to other locations are reviewed case by case and may result in forfeiture of the remaining incentive unless specified in the offer letter.
Requirements
- One of the following qualifications: an Associate of Science degree and certification in Ultrasound from an accredited school; successful completion of a formal educational program at an AMA-approved school of ultrasound with at least 500 clinical hours in the required specialty; or registration in the applied-for specialty through ARDMS or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), with at least one year of full-time experience.
- ARDMS or CCI credential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Scheduling flexibility throughout the week, including weekends and holidays, and participation in an overnight on-call rotation.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of ultrasound experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in general, breast, and OB/GYN ultrasound, including second- and third-trimester examinations.
