About The Position

Unlimited Technology (UT) designs, installs, and services integrated electronic and physical security systems (access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, physical barriers, etc.) for government and commercial entities. Though based primarily in the mid-Atlantic region, our team members dispatch to locations throughout the nation and occasionally overseas. In business for more than 20-years, UT continues to grow while maintaining a strong culture of teamwork. UT is searching for a SOLUTIONS ENGINEER, to support our operations on the West Coast and nationwide. Working in the Engineering department, the Solution Engineer will interface with UT internal resources to support the essential job duties listed below. These duties will be fulfilled by interacting with the UT Business Development, Operations, and Engineering departments, as assigned, for security system design and implementation as well as various other support tasks. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating internal resources to drive completion of projects. This position reports to the Solutions Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ technical experience in Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection and Network Design.
  • Experience in security system design for healthcare, government, K-12, critical infrastructure, enterprise customers and higher education environments.
  • Experience with networks and IT fundamentals, servers, etc. is a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience (4+ years) with a technical focus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
  • Team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with one or more of the followings software platforms is a bonus: Genetec, Software House, Lenel, Gallagher, and Milestone.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the security manufacturers noted above.
  • Experience with government systems, including PIV and CIV cards, FICAM, HSPD-12, FIPS 201-2 standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering and business development resources to design security systems based on client-provided specifications as well as industry standard practices.
  • Site surveys as deemed necessary to support system design and/or documentation updates.
  • Support will include all of UT's customer base, with a focus on the west coast, however nationwide travel may be required on occasion. Expected travel is estimated to be 25-35%.
  • Support for RFP review/response to include requirements assessment and drawing takeoffs.
  • Familiarity with GC construction projects, bid/spec RFPs.
  • Design/Build opportunities, working with clients and end-users to plan, develop and propose physical security solutions to meet customer requirements while utilizing the products within our line card.
  • Bill of materials development and equipment specification.
  • Creation of technical Scope of Works to outline proposed project installation and configuration.
