It also includes leading technical reviews and using modern and AI-assisted tools to model architectures, validate concepts, and occasionally build demonstrations or proofs of concept. The position is based in Herndon, Virginia, with a hybrid work arrangement. Travel may be required for client meetings, technical demonstrations, or proposal efforts. An active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 or more years of experience in solutions engineering, systems architecture, or technical pre-sales within government contracting.
  • Proven track record leading technical solutioning for complex RFIs and RFPs in Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or Federal Civilian markets.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous requirements, take command of technical strategy, and orchestrate cross-functional subject-matter expert teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into mission-focused proposal volumes.
  • Ability to operate with high autonomy and synthesize deep technical details into cohesive proposal architectures.
  • Current and active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing Work Breakdown Structures, staffing models, and technical pricing strategies for government bids.
  • Broad conceptual understanding across cybersecurity domains, including NIST frameworks, Zero Trust Architecture, defensive operations, and security engineering in classified environments.
  • Familiarity with modern AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor for technical modeling, workflow generation, or rapid concept validation.

Responsibilities

  • Own cyber architecture for major RFIs, RFPs, and proactive capture efforts across Intelligence and Federal Civilian accounts, translating ambiguous customer needs into actionable, differentiated technical approaches.
  • Serve as the lead technical cyber voice on proposal teams and collaborate with Capture Managers, Business Development leads, and executive leadership to shape capture strategy.
  • Partner with Cyber Practice subject-matter experts to integrate capabilities such as defensive cyber operations, cryptographic resilience, zero trust, and ICAM into unified solution visions.
  • Draft, review, and finalize technical proposal volumes, whitepapers, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and basis of estimates (BOEs).
  • Lead technical color team reviews, including Pink, Red, and Green reviews, defending technical choices and refining solution narratives throughout the capture lifecycle.
  • Use modern tools and AI-assisted development practices to rapidly mock up high-level architectures, functional concepts, or proofs of concept to validate proposal strategies.
