About The Position

The Cyber Solution Engineer is the frontline defender of the managed network environment, responsible for deploying and maintaining Network Detection and Response (NDR) technologies and conducting initial analysis. The role ensures continuous monitoring and operational health of the security stack to protect client assets.

The engineer installs and tunes network sensors, reviews network configurations to enable sensor installation and traffic visibility, and performs daily health checks and troubleshooting. The position also triages NDR alerts to distinguish false positives from true positives and prepares recurring security posture reports for clients.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in IT or security.
• Proficiency with the Linux command line, TCP/IP, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Academic path: an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Technology; alternatively, completion of a reputable cybersecurity bootcamp.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or Network+, or Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Cybersecurity.

Nice To Haves

• Experience querying a SIEM; product agnostic.
• Experience with log analysis.
• Previous experience in customer-facing roles.
• Ability to use LLMs for self-research and troubleshooting while maintaining a “trust but verify” mindset.
• Experience interacting with LogScale, Zeek, and/or Suricata.
• Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install network sensors and conduct initial tuning to support high-fidelity data capture.
• Review and configure firewall and network settings to support sensor installation and traffic visibility.
• Perform daily health checks to confirm client sensors are online and have healthy heartbeat signals.
• Troubleshoot sensor issues as they arise.
• Serve as the primary analyst for NDR alerts and distinguish false positives from true positives to reduce alert fatigue for senior staff.
• Prepare weekly and monthly security posture reports communicating client value and risk.
