About The Position

The Solution Engineer will design, develop, test, and support healthcare integrations using the Rhapsody Integration Engine. The role builds interfaces between applications using healthcare and data-exchange standards and technologies, including HL7, FHIR, API, X12, XML, JSON, databases, and file-based integrations. It includes configuring connectivity options such as APIs, SFTP, and databases, and using JavaScript for transformation logic. The position is located in Louisville, Kentucky.

The role requires hands-on Rhapsody Integration Engine experience, strong knowledge of HL7 v2.x and FHIR, and experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, X12 transactions, JavaScript, databases, SFTP, debugging, and production support. Healthcare domain experience, OAuth 2.0 and API security knowledge, and familiarity with integration architecture and interface-engine patterns are preferred. The posting lists overall experience of 8+ years for the B3 band and 12+ years for the C1 band, 10+ years of integration development, and 5+ years of Rhapsody experience as preferred. It also separately lists mandatory IBM Rational Rhapsody experience of 3–5 years.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with the Rhapsody Integration Engine.
• Strong knowledge of HL7 v2.x and FHIR.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
• Knowledge of X12 transactions, including 278, 834, and 837.
• JavaScript development within Rhapsody.
• Database skills with SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with SFTP and file-based integrations.
• Debugging and production support experience.
• Mandatory IBM Rational Rhapsody experience; the posting lists 3–5 years.
• The posting lists overall experience of 8+ years for the B3 band and 12+ years for the C1 band, and 10+ years of integration development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain interfaces using the Rhapsody Integration Engine.
• Design message-routing, transformation, and validation workflows.
• Build integrations using HL7 v2, FHIR, JSON, XML, X12, and REST APIs.
• Configure communication points for APIs/REST, SFTP/file, and databases (JDBC).
• Create JavaScript filters and transformation logic within Rhapsody.
• Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Troubleshoot production issues and monitor interfaces.
• Work with healthcare standards including HL7, FHIR, and X12.
• Prepare technical design documents and deployment guides.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and client teams.
