Solution Architect
About The Position
Perficient is seeking a hands-on Lead Solutions Architect to drive end-to-end architecture for digital healthcare products using modern cloud ecosystems (AWS or GCP) and Generative AI. The role provides technical direction across public web portals, secure authenticated member portals, and mobile applications. It combines architecture leadership with active coding, code reviews, and direct collaboration with product managers, business executives, software engineers, and QA. The architect will advance AI adoption across the software development lifecycle, from AI-assisted coding and automated test generation to AI-enhanced architecture design. The role also bridges business strategy and technical execution, aligning product roadmaps and requirements with scalable, secure cloud-native solutions and healthcare compliance needs. The position is part of Perficient’s App Modernization team, which delivers cloud migration, custom application development, multi-cloud strategies, and modern UI and API integration. The team works with DevSecOps, modern frameworks, enterprise platforms, and AI-driven capabilities to improve scalability, performance, and user experience.
Requirements
- Proven architectural experience in the Healthcare Payer domain, such as claims, member management, benefits, provider networks, or digital front door.
- Hands-on experience architecting and deploying resilient, scalable enterprise applications on AWS or GCP, including cloud-native microservices, serverless, managed databases, and containerization with ECS, EKS, or GKE.
- Demonstrated experience using Generative AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, or Claude/Gemini APIs, to improve software development, code refactoring, testing, and developer productivity.
- Deep, hands-on architectural and development mastery in Java and Spring Boot microservices ecosystems.
- Strong, hands-on experience building production applications using React Native and/or Angular for web and mobile platforms.
- Proven track record architecting public-facing marketing sites, authenticated secure portals, and native or cross-platform mobile applications.
- Experience providing T-shirt and low-level estimates, presenting estimates and architecture in review boards, and justifying estimates to sponsors and executive leaders.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Generative AI architectures, including RAG, LLM fine-tuning, and prompt engineering, applied to healthcare search or member self-service.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, including FHIR, HL7, and EDI 837/834.
- Deep understanding of OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and secure session management for cloud-hosted healthcare applications.
- Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD pipelines integrating automated AI quality gates.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native architectures on AWS or GCP across mobile, front-end web, API layers, microservices, and healthcare integration systems.
- Champion and integrate Generative AI capabilities throughout the development lifecycle, including AI-assisted coding, automated code reviews, dynamic documentation, AI-generated unit and integration tests, and synthetic healthcare data generation.
- Maintain a high level of daily code involvement across front-end React Native and/or Angular and back-end Java Spring Boot stacks.
- Translate complex cloud and AI concepts into strategic value for executive business partners and communicate low-level technical details to developers and QA.
- Partner with Product Management to define roadmaps, turn business requirements into technical blueprints, and align QA teams on cloud-native test architecture.
- Ensure cloud and digital solutions comply with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and HITRUST, and provide secure identity management across public and authenticated environments.
- Provide T-shirt and low-level estimates, present estimates and architecture in review boards, and justify them to sponsors and executive leaders.
