About The Position

Huron is hiring a Solution Advancement Engineer for its Clinical Insights team. The role combines client-facing delivery of healthcare analytics products with engineering work on the Insights Agent (IAA) platform. The engineer owns analytics applications end to end, from data pipelines and configuration through client quality control, user acceptance testing, and sign-off, while helping shape the IAA platform’s architecture and capabilities. The position works directly with healthcare clients and clinical consultants, turning feedback and domain requirements into product and platform decisions. Applications are built with R (Shiny) and Python and deployed through Posit Connect and a Docker-based monorepo. The team works in a high-autonomy, consulting-adjacent environment with multiple concurrent client engagements and evolving requirements.

Requirements

• U.S. work authorization is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of software development experience, including full-stack ownership of a production product.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Working proficiency in R for Shiny-based analytics applications.
• Experience developing LLM- or agent-based applications, such as with Pydantic AI, RAG, structured outputs, or comparable agent orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployment, including rollback procedures and deployment scripting.
• Proven experience owning a client-facing analytics or software product end to end, from the data layer through the user interface and client sign-off.
• Comfort with ambiguity, multi-client context-switching, and rapid iteration based on live client feedback.
• Excellent collaboration and customer-facing communication skills, including the ability to run user acceptance testing sessions and work directly with clinical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare analytics domain experience, such as perioperative, inpatient, emergency department metrics, or operating room utilization.
• Experience with Posit Connect or similar platforms for deploying R/Shiny analytics products.
• Experience with AWS data lake architecture, including Athena and S3, or other cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data warehouse platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
• Experience in consulting or professional services, where deliverables are client-visible and timelines are tied to engagement milestones.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment and configuration of Insights applications across concurrent client engagements, including data translation pipelines, app configuration, client quality control, and comparison testing against legacy reporting.
• Own end-to-end delivery of analytics applications, including client user acceptance testing and sign-off.
• Design and build LLM agent capabilities for the Insights Agent platform, including subagent patterns, registry and dispatch architecture, and evaluation frameworks such as pydantic-evals.
• Build and deploy interactive applications using R (Shiny) and Python.
• Maintain and extend Docker-based monorepo deployment infrastructure, including version tagging, rollback procedures, and Jenkins CI/CD.
• Work with AWS data lake infrastructure, including Athena, S3, and RDS, to support client data pipelines.
• Translate user acceptance testing feedback and clinical stakeholder input into product, architecture, and user experience decisions.
• Drive quality, performance, and delivery speed across multiple simultaneous client engagements.
• Collaborate directly with healthcare clients and clinical consultants to translate domain requirements and workflows into software.
• Mentor other engineers and help establish engineering best practices across the team.
